My daughter’s lottery number is 1500. Is that bad? She got accepted to Honors and hopes to live in Landis. Does she have a shot? Thanks
I am trying to do a search because I am sure it was discussed, but did anyone find out from FSU what the ACT/SAT and GPA were this year to get the out of state scholarship?
Thanks
ACT was 32
It’s not incredibly low, but not bad. She will have housing. The way I look at it, Azalea and Magnolia are the two newest dorms. Azalea has capacity for 433 and Magnolia for 479. One of them, can’t remember which right now, has an LLC that takes 30 beds. So that leaves approximately 882 beds in those two dorms alone. And there will be some ahead of her that will end up choosing a different school.
FSU Core GPA: 4.00
SAT:1420
ACT: 32
All A’s & B’s
Lottery? Like you may not get housing?
Did anyone receive the email about FSU’s study abroad program for one year and get in state tuition after? Sounds great in theory…
Lottery as in the priority number you get in random, not based on the order the application is submitted. But that’s only for Feb 23-24. After that, it goes in the order applications are received.
I think she has great odds of getting Landis.
My daughter lived there her first year and loved it!
We are inState and my S21 is in the FYA program. He is in Florence Italy but will move to Valencia Spain for the summer term.
It is a great Program. he loves it
Let me know if you have any questions
My contract housing number is now 1950 and before it was around 1450.
When did you submit? In the first 48 hours, or after that?
In the first 48 hours but it said I didn’t have to pay for 7 days. So when my friends started getting contract numbers and I didn’t, I went in and paid that Friday which was the 3rd day. Super annoying that they said you had 7 days to pay. Not really fair or worded right. Oh well….
That’s a pretty good number plus it could go lower as kids decline offers. Our freshman son is in Landis. Great spot for a freshman to start.
That is weird! I would call housing and ask, if I were you. I did pay for my daughter when she first submitted it, but only because I was afraid I’d forget to pay within 7 days, and I knew she wouldn’t be any closer to committing within that time frame, anyway. She’s waiting on one more college visit this weekend, and one more college decision coming later this month.
I got worried too about not paying when people started posting about getting numbers, so I just paid on Sunday. My daughter got her number yesterday and it is really low. We signed up within the first hour you could sign up, so it looks like we didn’t loose our place in line because we hadn’t paid right away.
so I recently got accepted for summer 2022 and was wondering if you can take it from online at home, or do you have to live on campus? I understand I would have to go to summer orientation but it would just be easier if I could take my classes from home. thanks
FSU has stated that summer classes for first-time students will be in person. You do not need to live on campus, but it’s very convenient unless you plan to live in an apartment off-campus all year and want to start that lease in June.
Thank you! So there will be no online classes available during summer at all?
No, there will always be online classes. But MOST of the classes for first-time students will be in person. One of the main goals of the summer session is to get a smaller group of students on campus, and in class, to help them acclimate before fall.
