FSU or UCF? Which one to apply to?

Hey there! PLEASE help me as FSU deadline 13th January!!?

So i’m an international student planning to start my undergrad in fall 2016.
I got a 1700 score in SAT. (low…ik)
In 9th & 10th grade I got 91% (4.0/4.0 GPA)
And tomorrow is my A level (11th and 12th) result in which im looking forward to getting average (Not thaaat good tho)

Extra Curricular Activities : 1. Active participation in MUN (Model United Nations). Also have chairing experience.
2. Co founded a socially benefiting organisation for promoting art and educating children.
3. Completed 10 levels of UCMAS (Abacus method of counting).
4. Completed elementary and intermediate art exams. (sketching and painting)
5. Completed 4 Levels of Classical dance.
6. Leading the school drama group.
7. Playing guitar and basketball at beginner level.
8. Learning Professional Yoga and Spanish
9. Internship at a consulting firm and associate in a fitness centre.
10. Volunteering in orphanages and school for disabled children.

I was wondering if, with all of this, I should apply to FSU or UCF?
I like both of them very much but in which one do I stand a better chance?

PS Also, any other colleges you can suggest me with this profile?
PPS I’m planning to major in economics and maybe double major in psychology too.

Apply to both! FSU is more selective, but you can use UCF as your back-up (they both have solid economics and psychology programs.

I got my results today. Its 4.0 for 9th and 10 grade and 3.2 for 11th and 12th grade. I kind of have an option to apply to only one of them :frowning: @Gator88NE

Only one?

FSU freshman Profile:

3.8-4.3 academic GPA; 26-30 ACT composite; 1750-1960 SAT total

This is what the middle 50% of accepted students score. The GPA is weighted and they normally only include 11th grade (9 thru 11), but if you’ve finished 12th grade, they may also include it.

UCF Freshman Profile:

Average SAT: 1854, Average GPA 4.0

This is also a weighted GPA.

UCF is easier to get into than FSU (by a bit). I would say UCF is a match, while FSU is a high match.

If you apply to FSU (today), you will get a decision back on March 16th. You have up to May 1’st to apply to UCF. If you don’t get into FSU, could you apply to UCF? If so, that’s the way to go. Otherwise, you’ll have to decide on taking a chance at FSU, or a slightly better chance at UCF.

Good Luck!!

Thank you so much! That was of great help, i’ll do that  @Gator88NE

If you decide to go with UCF, you may also want to take a look at USF. USF is very similar to UCF (ranked about the same), but is a bit easier to get into and is a bit cheaper for OOS/International students (about $5K less a year).

USF Freshman Profile:

Average GPA: 4.08 Mid-50 percent SAT range: 1150-1300 (M+R)

Like UCF, USF is on rolling admissions, so you can apply later in the year (I’m thinking May 1?)

Yes. I checked the USF profile, its a better option for me as per my profile and deadlines. I started filling the UCF and USF applications. Thankyou so much for you help! @Gator88NE
