FSU Safety?

Hey guys, I need some reassurance that FSU is my safety school and I can get in no problem. I have heard horror stories about getting into no schools, and that would be awful.

I have a 3.7 UW GPA with 12 AP/ AICE classes and more honors.
My SAT was a 1290,1890 but I'm almost postitive I raised it to a 2000.
My EC's are average (Travel soccer captain, NHS officer, surf club officer)

Pleae reassure me that I wont get denied because I am applying to a lot of reach schools and I may not get into any of the others!

Thanks!

Hmm, safety school with a 1290 critical reading and math.

Maybe its time to give FSU a little more credit??? :expressionless:

Better luck with USF as a safety with a 1290 nowadays

So I should apply to UCF or USF as another backup?

People from my school last year were getting in with 3.3’s and 1150’s so I just assumed I would be good?

I think you are a match. Maybe a safety if you applied by the priority deadline. Your certainly in for summer, but likely for fall.

^I agree with this. Match.

Alright thanks guys. I’m applying for summer, but just in case I’ll apply to UCF as well.

got in for summer with a 3.8 UW 4.2 W and 1050 SAT…I’m ashamed of the score but im in. if you’re ok with going for the summer then you’re fine!

At FSU GPA and course rigor are more important than test scores. Ultimately, success depends much more on work and determination than testing ability.

Unfortunately, I know literally nothing about FSU! But if you really have a 2000, you should be fine getting into a second-tier school (which I’m pretty sure FSU is? I don’t know.) as a safety. My completely unprofessional opinion is you’re fine.

FSU is a Tier 1 school by US News reckoning.

UF UM AND FSU are all Tier 1 Universities, unlike UCF and USF which are Tier 3

Scores came back. 2060 on the SAT. Now a safety??

Your GPA is more important to admission than your SAT score. You will likely be accepted - if you apply EARLY. FSU can and will close freshman admission when they get the class they want.

If you want to have a lock on admission, try another school. As it says on the FSU Admissions website “Satisfying these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.”

FWIW, UCF and USF are classified Tier 1 universities by US News.

i know this might seem like a dumb question but if you dont meet the minium requirements do you automatically not get in. i applied by priority deadline for fall2011 and after all my stuff was in i had found out that my cr score missed the min requirment by 10 points- should i forget about fsu even though they still contact me?

i have about an 86 gpa, a ton of ecs, a great essay and recemendations ( i know i cant spell lol)

^^ How did you make it through school spelling like that? I think you should repeat 3rd grade before attempting to apply to college.
