What are my chances at UF, FSU, LSU, UA, AUBURN, OLE MISS, AND FAMU?

Possible scholarships?

Planning on applying EA to schools with the option to apply early.

HELPPPP
:-SS

If you can fix that ACT (24-26 or so) then you’ll be in at Ole Miss/FAMU and most likely at LSU/Alabama,

FSU & Florida are pretty hard to get into though.

But that ACT really needs to get up! :)

Also, there’s a huge difference between a 24 and a 28, remember that.

Thank you! @TheAtlantic
Next year I will be a nervous wreck-- If I cannot go out of state my 1st choice is UF which seems wayyyy out of reach…

@alijasmined You should still have a shot at some of these. Ole Miss/LSU/FAMU are all pretty easy to get into (and Alabama by extension). But a 24 & a 28 are world’s apart. Regardless, you should be good. You also have a rigorous schedule which will put your GPA in perspective (but try to keep it up on the UW end!)

I have also heard dual enrollment makes a big difference? I will choose the school that comes out as the cheapest with FA/Scholarships…@theatlantic

If you actually score between a 24-28, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, and FAMU are safeties.

Thank you @‌whenhen … I am super concerned about UF, My friend got accepted with a 23, no APs, and dual enrollment. I have a chance at getting in but there are so many people at my school that will be applying and I know they have some sort of quota for each school.

No problem. Make sure to apply early to the schools I listed as safeties. With the exception of Florida A&M, none of them require essays, so the application should be a breeze.

Sort out the cost constraints with your parents; see point 1 of <a href=“Before you ask which colleges to apply to, please consider - College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1621234-before-you-ask-which-colleges-to-apply-to-please-consider.html</a> .

Some of the scholarships listed at <a href=“Automatic Full Tuition / Full Ride Scholarships - #300 by BobWallace - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>Automatic Full Tuition / Full Ride Scholarships - #300 by BobWallace - Financial Aid and Scholarships - College Confidential Forums; may be in reach with higher ACT or SAT scores. Some of these schools also offer smaller scholarships at slightly lower ACT or SAT scores than the full tuition ones need.

Thank you! @whenhen and @ucbalumnus

FAMU will likely offer the best in-state scholarships, which could make it your best financial safety. Your family income is a little high for FA.

For example:

<a href=“Page Not Found”>Page Not Found;

So, if you score a 23 on your ACT, you could earn $2K a year. If you’re a STEM major, that could be $3K to $4K a year. Remember, you can take that ACT test a 3rd time in the fall, and spend some time studying for it over the summer. :)

You may also want to apply to a few other in-state schools, such as FAU, and see what type of scholarships they may offer. Each application is $30. Then you may have to pay to send your ACT scores ($12 per school, if it’s not one you listed when taking the test).

Good Luck!

Thank you! @Gator88NE
