Fsu/usf

Ok so I got into both FSU and USF. In your opinion, which school is better for a pre med major (not honors or accelerated program)?

Why would you think USF is better?

I have no idea which school is better academically but I do know FSU has more prestige. I have always been a nole(sports wise) but I really am confused on which would be better for pre med(not honors or accelerated program). thanks in advance

Honestly, there is no comparison. FSU significantly better than USF. I won’t go in detail but it’s a no-brainer.

Could you please go into detail as im totally lost and Ive been told that USF has a better medical acceptance rate so im just really confused. Any info is very appreciated.

FSU has better national ratings in the sciences and the arts.

FSU earned the first chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in Florida in 1935. USF has failed at least seven times in trying to qualify for a chapter and has not earned one yet. PBK is the oldest and best recognized national academic society in the arts and sciences.

FSU has a much better student-faculty ratio.

The students at FSU, on average, have higher entry grades and test scores than at USF.

I dislike US News ratings…but even there FSU is rated much higher than USF.

FSU has a student retention rate of over 90%. USF’s is substantially lower.

FSU has a significantly higher graduation rate.

There is more, but I hope this helps you start to comprehend the differences between FSU and USF.

Thanks parent2noles, do you know anything about FSU’s biomedical engineering major? That’s mainly what I’m interested in as of now.

Sorry, but I don’t.

I suggest you contact that department and set up a personal visit:
