It's almost decision time!! I am an OOS from Maryland and for the longest time FSU has been my only real option. However I decided to keep an open mind and visit other schools. I visited Auburn and felt that everything I liked about FSU I also like about Auburn.

However the one thing that is pulling me toward AU is the people. I was there for 2 days compared to 4 hours, so I got a great feel for the people and they seemed so nice and down to earth making it feel very homey.

Can anyone make a testament to the people at FSU and whether it is the same way or not. It is basically the only thing seperating the two colleges in my mind, and if I found FSU to be just as "homey" I would probably end up in Tally next fall!

I would love as many responses as possible to help me make my decision!!!! Thank you

I personally don’t find FSU to be like home- but to me, that’s a good thing. I didn’t want the college experience to be exactly like at home, which is exactly what I found.

I haven’t ever visited Auburn, so I can’t compare the two schools.

My daughter, also OOS~picked FSU out of many schools! The very first thing that drew her in was the open friendliness of the whole campus–both the students, and the personnel. She has almost completed her first year at FSU, and even though she went 1100 miles away to study a specific major at FSU; she has now changed her major- and is still absolutely thrilled about being there! She passed up a full tutition scholarship at our hometown college to be at FSU!

We also benefit from her being at FSU~flying down for games is a real treat for us!! GO NOLES!!!

BTW–it is far from “homey” for her~it’s a culture shock, but in a very good way!

Thats awesome! When I say “homey” I don’t mean like my home town. I am going 14 hours away to try to get away from the fast pace metrocity of the greater DC area!

What I meant was basically that the people at AU were so welcoming and friendly, it was such a shock to me for people to be acting with the manors I believe we all should have. I guess what I am trying to ask is if FSU has that same southern hospitality and morals? But from what you guys have said it sounds like it does!

P.S. star linebacker from UF Jelani Jenkins was back at his alma mater today (my school) and i yelled out GO NOLES! to him hahaha.
