I know that people say go to wherever you will be the happiest and best student. I am just curious as to why you would choose one over the other. Thanks
Bump… I’m just curious what people have to say about the program. Thanks
It would really depend on where you’d want your medical career to take you.
I have a lot of friends that went to USF for pre-med (and med) mostly for the number of opportunities. Moffitt is on campus and offers a lot of potential internships and research opportunities. Of course, a LOT of people go that route so it’s almost the default route that people take from what I’ve seen. There’s a number of other hospitals in the area though and plenty of opportunities, since Tampa is a major metro area.
I don’t know anyone that went to FSU for pre-med over USF, but FSU has a number of opportunities as well, although the sheer number of opportunities is limited in comparison since Tallahassee is a much smaller area.
I guess the bigger question might be what do you want to do with the pre-med major. Are you going to go on to med school? Do you want to end up being a doctor that runs a doctor’s office, or a surgeon, or what? I know that can (and probably will) change, but where do you want to go after pre-med?
@Pasbal thanks that helped a lot since I would like to go to med school after(most likely) or something in the sciences
