As you can see, FSU totally dominated the State. In fact, FSU had more blue chip recruits than all of the other Florida schools combined. FSU had five, the rest of the state had three (UF two and UM one).

FSU had a big year recruiting with its new 2011 football class, but success recruiting in high school kids’ living rooms doesn’t necessarily guarantee success on the playing field. UF was ranked No. 1 for recruiting with its 2007 recruit class, the kids that should have been seniors on UF’s team this last season, and UF wasn’t anywhere near top 25 teams this past football season’s final rankings. see: [Scout.com: Football Recruiting](<a href=“FB Recruiting Home - FB Recruiting College Sports News and Recruiting”>http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2007)

Florida won the national championship in 2009 with that very 2007 recruiting class, producing 2 first rounders in the 2010 draft. I think I’d like to disagree with your statement

You can shuffle this around any way you want. I’m just saying just because you have a No. 1 recruiting class doesn’t guarantee a National Championship four years later, especially when recruits leave school early. Things happen. Cam Newton was a member of Florida’s 2007 recruiting class, but he didn’t help the Gators any in 2009 or 2010–he did though win the Heisman Trophy and contributed to a National Championship…at Auburn! FSU football did well with its 2011 recruiting class and the football program seems to be going in the right direction.
