I was wondering if anyone had applied for the honors college at FSU through application? And if so when were you notified if you were rejected/accepted? I know for this year it says we should hear by tomorrow, but does it usually work on a rolling decision, or does everyone find out on the day it says you should hear by? Any responses appreciated, thank you!
Any responses would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
We’re all waiting.
I just posted this on another thread… Looks like emails came yesterday right before 5pm as promised.
My D got into Honors yesterday! Very exciting! Received an email around 4:30pm.
From NJ, she applied early action and got an OOS Tuition Waiver and small scholarship but no automatic honors invite back at the end of last year.
SAT 1960, GPA 3.9UW/4.8W, 8 AP’s and 98% of other classes are honors. Top 8%, lots of extracurricular and leadership. Noted on honors app essay 3 specifics she woulld take advantage of in the program based on her past experiences and interests.
Good luck to everyone who applied.
@nj_mom, not to hijack this thread on the Honors Program but could I ask a little more about your D getting the OOS tuition waiver? Did she get the full waiver or the half waiver and did she take the ACT? From what I’ve been seeing it looks like FSU gives the OOS tuition waivers to those that get over 30 on the ACT but I hadn’t seen a correlating SAT score posted. Your daughter’s 1960 SAT score is a helpful benchmark.
@FloridaBound16 sure, no problem. My D got a full OOS tuition waiver as well as the $9600 University Freshman Scholarship (academic scholarship over 4 years). She did not take the ACT. FSU was barely on the radar of her “10 school list” until the OOS tuition waiver + academic scholarship came in. She couldn’t believe it. In fact she called the school to make sure she actually was understanding the award correctly. It certainly got her attention and she ended up liking FSU after her visit far better than any other school she got into which came as a very big surprise to us all.
