this is just a question to upperclassmen. Do you recommend fulfilling all GE's by your second year, or is it better to do a little bit throughout all 4 years?

I'm going to be in my third year this Fall, so I count as a borderline upperclassman... I would recommend fulfilling all GEs as soon as possible (i.e. by your second year) because their enrollments fill up faster than upper division major-requirement courses do (at least for engineering). Also, the early breadth helps you adjust to college-level courses and find your area of interest (if you're undeclared).

i say take most of them by 2nd year, but perhaps save a few (maybe about 1 or 2?) for later on, just for the purposes of lightening up your courseload or diversifying your courseload.

but i'm not an upperclassmen so my answer doesnt count haha

according to my sisters (who have graduated) it's best to save a few GEs in case you want to study abroad- it's much better to be taking GEs abroad than classes within your major that tend to be harder and more intense.
