Thanks. I will try it a bit later, ok? I have SAT in less than 2 weeks.

Suley…again I say…it’s your GPA that is a problem. Even IF you get your SAT score up to where you think it will be, your GPA is not on par with the ones that schools look at when awarding SIGNIFICANT merit aid. You might get some aid…somewhere…but it won’t be a free ride.

In addition…as I said before. A very high SAT score and a very average GPA will make you look like an UNDER ACHIEVER…in other words, your standardized tests make it look like you should have done much better in high school. Schools are looking for achievers…not underachievers. They want students who work up to their potential, not just folks who score well on standardized tests. Your GPA will not get you significant merit aid…a full ride…here…you have a very average GPA.

Hey Suley…a point on your ECs. When I was applying to college and putting together my resume, I was told putting things that I did as an activity for high school wouldn’t matter. So perhaps what you did in 4th grade (or anytime before you entered high school) shouldn’t go on your list of ECs. From my understanding, at the school I go to and work in, ECs don’t have influence on admission. I don’t know if this is true for any of the colleges you are applying to, but you might want to look into that.

I hope you are taking all the advice to heart. Just to repeat, the SAT is NOT going to get you into college or give you financial and merit aid. There are many factors.

Cant you guys see that OP is delusional?
You arent getting a full ride, not even one from your high school to your house.

Hey Suleyman, I’m also an international student and I know what it feels to be in your position, but I think you need to realized where you are standing on. I dont want to be disrespecful but you got nothing:

"I am sure that there is a reason why international students “turn their noses up” at other universities.
My GPA isn’t high so I’m sure it will be like A’s and B’s…something like 80/100
I plan to retake the SAT for 2200+
I plan to take 3 SAT II’s for 750+

This stats are average for top schools in the world, not only ivy league but also schools like oxford, cambridge or london college. I saw that you named several times WPI and I’m going to tell you my personal experience with the Worcerster Politechnical Institute (WPI). I got a 30k scholarship from WPI which was HUGE!!! It was one of the largest scholarships obtained by an international student that year, I even got more money that most US citizens (I dont see the logic to this, Please US guys dont be mad at me), my student advisor from WPI was really surprised for the size of the grant because, all universities have very limited financial aid available for international students, and they have to help first their own people before they can help international students YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS. In the current economy money is very limited, a couple of years ago several US universities had need blind policies extended to international students, today only six are mantaining this policy.

For what I’ve seen you are a very cocky person, which is not good at all, therefore I’m going to give you dose of your own medicine; I’m going to show you my curriculum and you tell me who has a more complete profile:

This is the resume that I have on my computer, as you can see I have been constant for my whole school career, even tho I know that there are many people with better stats than mine out there. Despite of getting a great scholarship I decided to go to a cheaper college, I dont want to have a huge debt after graduation.

Be humble, this people is only trying to help you, be realistic you said you are going for aeronautic or aerospace, is there an aerospace industry in your country?? Most international students have to go back to their country after finishing their degree.

My recomendation to you is look around for a nice decent college, there are plenty of college in the United States, some of the nordic countries have free tuition colleges, this may be helpful, but you need to do your homework. Again be humble loose that attitude, if you go to the US with that attitude you are going to get your ass beat, I guarantee you that, and I’m sure that a lot of people with agree with me on this.

I apologized for my english, I know is not great.

I don’t know if this guy is for real, but whatever. Listen, suley.

I consider myself to be an average international student (I’ll apply for fall 2012 just like you), i have 3.5 gpa’s through my freshman and sophomore years (I slacked off, i wasn’t really thinking about my future then) and a 3.8 my junior year. My SAT’s are not scored yet, but i hope to get around 2000, maybe up to 2100 as i will retake them once at least. My SAT II’s should be 700-800 (W History and Math 2). My EC’s are not that impressive, mainly 13 years of competitive swimming (ranked somewhere in the middle of top 100 swimmers in my nation)(I might work out a scholarship at a Div-II school).

My point is. I DON’T EVEN DREAM ABOUT RECEIVING FULL RIDE MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS!!!. Dude, get real, your stat’s are not all that impressive, and universities have plenty of qualified U.S. students to offer aid to, and the only scholarships that are left for international students are given to the absolute top students. Me and you are not even close to the competition.

I really hope that you won’t ignore this like the rest of the posts.
