Hello guys !!
I am going to UT Health at Houston, and their tuition is expensive for students who are studying DDS (which is me). I know choosing to go to dental schools is very expensive, and I must accept that, but I still hope if you guys can help me out. Is there any full ride scholarship for dentist students (DDS) ? Or any scholarship with a good amount of money that can cover my tuition?

Some dental, schools offer some merit aid to students. The best aid will come from the schools.
In my experience, scholarships for dental school are not common…
^Yes, that’s why it is important to get your bachelor’s degree with least amount of loans possible.
Looks like a lot of loans in your future.
Full ride for dental students? Never heard of it…
If you are looking for money but have already been accepted, what is your actual plan?
You’ll be taking out loans. Good luck.
I don’t think you’ll find a program outside the military, but you might not want to give up so fast.
When my daughter was in braces, we went to the university dental school for treatment. Many of the dentists were having their tuition paid by a program where they agreed to work for the company afterward. Of course these were all dentists who were becoming orthodontists, but they saved a fortune in tuition on the training. I have no idea if such a program exists for dentists too (we didn’t go to the dental clinics, just the ortho clinic)
OMG! I am going to be an orthodontist!! I have never heard of this program either! Can you please ask your orthodontist if you have a chance? This would mean a lot to me!! :x
It sounds like that program is for people who have already been thru dental school, but now are having their Ortho training paid for.
Are you a senior in COLLEGE about to matriculate at UT Health’s Dental School? Are you instate?
I don’t think the program exists anymore, but you need to look for your own programs. This was years ago (my daughter is in college and has had her braces off for 10 years)
Only two options that I have heard of for ‘full rides’ (or close to it) for dental (and medical) students:
National Health Services Scholarship Program states that if you are committed to primary care and accepted to or enrolled in an accredited U.S. school in one of the following primary care disciplines:
Physicians (MD or DO)
Dentists
Nurse Practitioners (post graduate degree with clinical practice focus)
Certified Nurse-Midwives
Physician Assistants
The scholarship pays tuition, fees, other educational costs, and provides a living stipend in return for a commitment to work at least 2 years at an NHSC-approved site in a medically underserved community. For each year of financial support (up to four years), the student agrees to serve one year (minimum two years) at an NHSC-approved site in a high-need urban, rural, or frontier community across the nation.
Another option?
Air Force (or other branch of the service) Dental Health Profession Scholarship Program (HPSP)
As I understand it they are very competitive and also come with huge service commitments and lots of downsides. Still, could be worth exploring.
First things first, get out of undergrad with little or no debt and do VERY very well.
