Can the following stats get someone a full ride (tuition + room + board)?

Male in NY
SAT: 2300 (M:775 V:750 W:775)
SAT II's: 750, 725, 760
AP's: seven 5's (AP Scholar)
GPA: unweighted around 96-97, weighted: 104.423
Class Rank: 4/300
Extra Curriculurs: Math Club (2yrs(captain in last)), Tennis team(3yrs), Radio (2yrs), Journalism(1yr), Anchor Club(2 yrs), Volunteered at SUNY Stony Brook Hospital for about a year.
Research class taken in at SUNY Stony Brook, and recieved A- in it.

The only troubling stats are the crappy extracurriculurs, they are quite mediocre. But the academic achievement is pretty good. So what do you guys think?

ummm u can't get anything that ends with a "5" can you explain...... all the SAT scores end with a "0" they all go by 10's but anyways with a 2300 i think you will def. get merit based scholarship, not sure how much though.

The highest merit based scholarship is half tuition. It ends up being about a third of the full cost of the university (tuition + room and board). Your stats would qualify for that scholarship and a lot of these are given up but it is the highest you can get for merit based aid.

On that thread, numerous people got more than half tuition. If I get more than half tuition, I'd definitely consider GW (not gonna get much need-based).

I think those were combining financial aid money with scholarships. Some people count grant money as part of a scholarship because it basically is.

I don't understand why GW would just have one flat-rate scholarship. Different tiers would make a lot more sense, because there's often a large disparity between students who receive this scholarship.

The nicest thing about financial aid amounts at GW are that they are the same for your undergrad. If your EFC was 0 at the time of admissions and you won the lottery during your freshman year, GW would still guarantee financial aid for the next four years because of the fixed tuition rate. (If this doesn't make sense just ask lol)

yeah i know a friend of mine 2 years back who went full ride to GW with stats similar to those. everythings tougher now, but I still think you are gonna get a buuuunch of money if not a full ride

GW does give out full rides tho. Because their tuition is so expensive, they end up giving out money like its water

My daughter was accepted ED II to GW. We did not apply for financial aid.
Would they have notified her in her acceptance package if she was being awarded any monies based on merit? She received monies from Northeastern and Catholic so we were hoping she might get something from GW.

I'm pretty sure that they notify you of scholarships when you receive the actual mailing from GW. So if you received that, then I'd say that they didn't award any money. From what I've seen, GW offers money fairly randomly. But, that's just an observation from the people on here that have received scholarship.

Actually, I called and was told by admissions office after I was transferred there by financial aid that we would hear in 3 or so weeks and that ED students would be given preference. Don't know if I would have been told something different if I had spoken with someone else.
