Hi!

What are some colleges that offer Full-Tuition waivers/scholarships for students?

Which of them, then, offer the same to international students?

Hi!

Thanks!

If you go to this link, there are lists of schools with full tuition merit scholarships (or more).

You will have to look up each one (or contact each school) to find out if int’ls qualify.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships-4.html

Look at post #80 for most current list.

These are assured full tuiton scholarships for stats (GPA and test scores). I believe that the highest ranked school to do this is University of Alabama…and yes, they do award to int’ls IF THEY ARE ACCEPTED by Dec 1st (not just applied, but ACCEPTED). so, I recommend applying ASAP…their app went LIVE a week ago, so you could submit an app NOW…fast and easy…no essays…no LORs. Then submit the scholarship app. It’s a formality, but a req’t.

Hi!

Thanks for the link!

Also, UBama; once, i’m accepted, when do i have to get back to them - i.e. that I will/won’t be attending?

Thanks!

Hey all.
The link which mom2college gave is for international students as well?

Also, is their any uni in the top tier colleges which is merit based for internationals?

Arvindch…

What do you mean? If you get accepted, then in the spring you’ll decide whether you’re attending or not. You’ll let them know either way.

REW…Top tier schools - merit - int’ls.
Not really. I think maybe a couple have a tiny number of highly competitive merit full rides for int’ls. Top tier schools are mostly “need based”…and they’re all highly competive to get accepted.

Top tier schools don’t have to offer merit based scholarships because all of their students have great stats. So, no need to pick out a couple for merit awards.

And arvindch, please do remember that while a full-tuition scholarship will take care of the tuition part of your bill, you will still need to be able to cover the rest of your full Cost of Attendance (COA) or you won’t get your student visa. Check the college/university website for the COA for international students, and make certain that you have the means to pay whatever is left after the scholarship.

Hi!

@M2CK-

What else can you tell me about UBama? (Or atleast a place i can find this sort of information) How is the academics, life, studying etc… there?

@HMO1-

Thanks.Yeah, I checked that out, already. I emailed the admissions and financial aid offices, and they said I qualify for 2 schoalrships, which ultimately brings down total COA down to a really small amount - 7k$.

However, I would like to get a feel for the college before I apply, so what can you/anyone tell me about UBama?

Thanks!
