What is there to do at Cornell on the weekends and in general? My only issue with Cornell is the Ithaca location.

I think this question would be best answered by a current/past student, but unfortunately I'm not one (yet!! hopefully)

However, when I did go to visit Cornell, I didn't notice the "isolated" location of Ithaca at all. It's very much like a community, filled with great people--for me, that makes me forget the geographical location and focus more on who I can meet and talk to.

I ate a lot of good food while up there. Cornell apparently is top notch for food.

oh please...if there is any doubt as to how "fun" Cornell is...ummm...just visit a student on an overnight thing...obvs you will be entertained (provided that the student is interesting and involved, which many are)

I went up for a night, and the strokes happened to be playing there. I was so happy to be able to get a $20 ticket.

It isn't as in the middle of nowhere as people think (at least to me). In that one little area there is the 13,000 person cornell undergrad population, the 7,000 cornell grad population, the 10,000 Ithaca college population, and 30,000 Ithaca resident population. (1:1 ratio between student and resident). It's a nice place to be w/ a chill college town and a lively campus.

I bet there are always events on or near campus…and the location creates a condition in which you’re almost forced to form close bonds with your friends and I think that’s always nice!

thanks for the feedback!

i was there the night of the strokes concert too! i didn't get a ticket, but that's pretty cool that we were there the same night. p.s. there was lots of other stuff going on too that night!

Did you go on the north jersey redcarpet cornell club thing? We may have met if you did :)

i heard it's boring... :(.. i hope not.. since i will attend cornelll this fall...

btw, while i'm here...
cornell's food really that good?
weather that bad?
how hard is ILR?

yea i did go on that red carpet thing. i bet we did meet! actually at the time i did not think i would get in at all, but as of now i have a likely letter, and im kind of in shock.

if you go into it thinking that it's boring, then you will be bored because you will not join anything. cornell is an amazingly fun place, unless you sit in your dorm room and play video games in between studying and never make any friends or join organizations. hint: have a positive attitude :)

food is really that good
weather..um...w/e it's kinda a given in upstate ny but also i mean look at boston and chicago, they're pretty bad.
all i can say about ilr because i'm not in it is I Love Reading (probably a dumb generalization because everybody reads obviously, this is college and this IS Cornell)

unless you sit in your dorm room and play video games in between studying

Are you implying this isn't fun? BLASPHEMY!

food is amazing. there is a chinese restaurant that is the best in new york and a world famous health food restaurant. i'm not sure of the names, but i read about it in the college ******* book on cornell. <-- i recommend this book by the way- it's pretty helpful

the stars are pr0wler, i don't understand why it doesn't show up

Are you implying this isn't fun? BLASPHEMY!

hahaha hey w/e floats yur boat...just get out once in a while ;)

thanks sametwochords, i'll make sure i join plenty of clubs/organizations to occupy myself haha.

um, what is this chinese restaurant you speak of?

As for the world famous health food restaurant, that's Moosewood. I have expressed my sentiments about it before so I won't repeat myself (hint: I'm a carnivore).

Moosewood is awesome. West African Peanut soup. Mmm.

And the by way, Ithaca is supposed to have the most restaurants per capita or something. Heard that somewhere.
