Driving my D down to Wake Forest this weekend for her scholarship interview/ visit. Most of the time, she will be entertained by the theatre department, so I am looking for suggestions to keep myself occupied. Anyone have recommendations for interesting shopping, good restaurants or must-see sights for us in the Winston-Salem area for Sunday and Monday?

We like to walk around Old Salem. We just tried Sweet Potatoes. It is on Trade St. downtown. My family loved it. Next to the campus is Reynolda House, which is an art museum. There are a few shops at Reynolda Village.

Favorite restaurants in Winston Little Richards for BBQ, Milner’s for really good southern food, mozelle’s for the same, and Willow’s Bistro for just good all around food.

Downtown I also like Foothill’s Brewery, Camino Bakery for sandwiches.

The above-mentioned activities are good. Maybe catch a lesser-known film at the downtown theater Aperture.
Women’s basketball may still be playing in Greensboro for the ACC tournament. There may be a men’s baseball game as well.

Little Richard BBQ is awesome (its cash only). I would suggest walking to reynolda gardens.

Honestly, there not that much to do in Winston-Salem (thats not really a bad thing because there are so many things going on around campus)

Ooh ooh Village Tavern Village Tavern!!
