funding

I was recently accepted to the university college london for the spring semester, but cannot go because of the cost. My father recently had a pay cut, so it's not a smart financial decision for him to cosign on another loan for me. I was wondering if anyone knew of any kind of scholarships or grants or other sort of funding that I could receive.

The UK student visa requires I have 800 pounds for every month I am will be there, which comes out to about $6000, give or take.

The biggest issue is that classes start in exactly 2 months and for the visa I need to prove that I have had the finances for 28 days prior to my departure.

Time is of the essence.

Thank you.

Does your family have a credit card with cash advance? Write a check, put it into your account, have the bank officer issue a letter stating the level of funds, pay off the check within the 30 days. You’re out a fee for cash advance.

We unfortunately do not.

Regarding the VISA portion you can get yourself approved for a loan and show that document. BUT if you do not take the loan, how would you pay. Between the lousy exchange rate, the international student fees, the lack of funding for non EU students, etc, there are not many scholarship options available. There are big ones like Fulbright or Rotary but those require applying way in advance.

Are you undergrad? Do you qualify for any aid? Pell? ACG/Smart grants? A state grant that is offered for use out of state?

You might defer until fall and spend the next year working like a madman to accumulate funds??

I guess I’m not going. Thanks for the help.
