FURMAN Should I be worried about acceptance

So I’ve had a turbulent high school experience grade wise. I’ve switched schools a few times due to uncontrollable circumstances and had issues adjusting sophmore year. Currently my unweighted GPA is 3.2 and my weighted is 3.86. My SAT is 1330 and my ACT is 27 (I plan to take it again) and I’m in the IB program. Anyways furman is my dream school but I’m scared that because of my turbulent and mediocre grades it’s gonna be a stretch and I wanted to know people’s opinions and advice! Thanks in advance!!

I’m so NOT a fan of “dream schools,” They’re an invitation for heartbreak.

You’ve found one school you’re interested in-- great. It goes on the list. Now find 9 more schools you’re equally interested in-- at least 3 or 4 of which have your GPA and SAT somewhere near the 50th percentile, and ALL of which you can afford.

I have a couple others like Rhodes, Boulder, Vermont, and Elon don’t worry I’m not putting all of my eggs in one basket! Furman is just the one I want to go to the most

I’m pretty sure that you’ll get into Furman. It has a very high acceptance rate, but nearly everyone who applies is very eager to attend, so it’s self-selecting.

COA for Furman is over 60,000 a year. You will most likely be accepted, but merit may be limited.

I went to 3 different high schools and graduated with a 3.5 I got in.

@IBjunior2018 I am also an IB student planning to apply to Furman. If it’s not too much, could you please share your achieved and predicted grade?
