I am international student applying to McGill and finally they've changed my status today to Further Review Required. I have already completed High School and they are requiring only the proof of High School Graduation(they already have my full transcripts since december) and a summary of activities of the time after high school. I don't know why they want it before a decision, should I think that it is a good thing? Because they could have already reject me, the two new requirements do not have any grades or any kind of it and do not count in McGill's admission. Or is it a normal requirement before a decision? Is it good or bad?

Yeah, I got the same thing to, but I’m a freshman transfer student. What else am I supposed to send besides my first semester grades? The only thing I get next are my second semester grades. What do they want me to do? lol

I called admission about this (I had fulfilled all of the requirements); they said they were having trouble in the system updating from “further review required” to “ready for review,” but that everything they needed in my file was in. Time to be patient, I s’pose. If you’re really worried, call them a little before March 15th and make sure you’re all set.

Well, just for your knowledge, I submitted my mid year grades on the 18th or 17th through courier (before that I was also getting further review required). They received them on 21st or 22nd, I think. They had a decision in the next 2 days…
Admitted pending final results!! :D

My school does’t do mid-year grades, we only have term 2 mark which is due mid-march :S
so long wait for me, and more chances to improve my grades?

Does anyone know with what purpose McGill is asking for this Summary of Activities ?
I mean, why do they care so much about what you were doing after graduating from High School ?

McGill, or any school, wants to make sure that if you graduated from high school last June, that you are not enrolled in another university at this time. If you are taking university classes now, you should be applying as a transfer student and not a freshman.
