Future BFA?

nicoleace posted a link (reposted below) several years ago that states that George Abbott’s widow gave her share of rights and royalties (lots of $) to create a BFA program in musical theater at Temple University. The article also states that it will be part of Boyer School of Music and Dance. It was right before the musical theater concentration began in the Fall of 2008. Another internet story quotes Temple’s new MT Director saying that the theater department is working in collaboration with the Boyer School of music on this project. So I guess my question is: Is the musical theater concentration still going to become a BFA?

(To my knowledge) there are no plans for a BFA in musical theatre at Temple at this time. It is my understanding that the priority right now is to continue to develop and shape the BA MT program which will be entering its fourth year in the fall.
