The bachelor of fine arts in Musical Theater emphasizes rigorous training in the three pillars of musical theater – acting, singing and dancing. The BFA program at Temple University is focused on building well-rounded, versatile ‘triple-threat’ artists who have developed the knowledge, skills and concepts essential to the life of the theater professional.
The students in the BFA in Musical Theater will work alongside MFA students in the graduate program in Musical Theater Collaboration. BFA candidates also benefit from interdisciplinary training in the Boyer College of Music and Dance.
“The BFA in Musical Theater at Temple provides an affordable professional musical theater degree at a world-class university in a vibrant theater and arts community. Philadelphia boasts dozens of professional theater companies of all genres, including top-level musical theater. For a half century, Temple’s Department of Theater has provided excellent theater training, with graduates appearing regularly on the stages of every major regional theater, national tours, and on Broadway.”
@BwayMex After the message from Peter Reynolds did you get an email or mail from someone else confirming MT BFA? My daughter received the same first email you mentioned, but nothing after… except for stuff from the school. We’re confused by the correspondence. Thank you!
@SingerDancerMom I received an email like a day ago that said any message you recieved before this email is an academic acceptance only. They sent out 16 offers on Tuesday.
What!!! @Aiming4Success That’s so confusing and frustrating! She was already academically accepted. That came from the school, both email and snail mail. Then after that she received multiple messages from the department…one saying we’re interested please apply, another with a survey, gauging her interest, THEN the congratulations from the head of theatre with an invite to an accepted theater student reception, and then nothing.
How did you hear that they sent 16 offers? And how did they send them?
