Future of Islam in America and Europe?

by the way I would do anything for a couple of my friends who are moslem at my school. because they are not moslem political zealots they are american first. and they dont just portray this. they participate in school activities fully. their parents are active in the community not just at their place of worship but in the mainstream. some though have taught me the other side of it. they isolate themselves. Killerangel what does your screen name mean?

Did anybody read the comments in that link? Sometimes I dont resent terrorism because of people like them. Extremely disrespectful!

That's the republican party for you.

How come republicans are so stupid?

Islam: The Next American Religion?
The U.S. began as a haven for Christian outcasts. But what religion fits our current zeitgeist? The answer may be Islam.

Americans tend to think of their country as, at the very least, a nominally Christian nation. Didn't the Pilgrims come here for freedom to practice their Christian religion? Don't Christian values of righteousness under God, and freedom, reinforce America's democratic, capitalist ideals?

True enough. But there's a new religion on the block now, one that fits the current zeitgeist nicely. It's Islam....

Good article.
I didn't read the continuation, though.

Yeah, interesting article.

I also dislike the Republican Party very much. I remember a prominent Democrat saying that the party was basically a "white, christian" party and I agree with him 100%, even though that comment angered a lot of Republicans, but its true.

They only care about the rich and the elite. They give tax breaks only to the rich.

Let's not have this thread degrade into partisan bickering. Those are never productive.

You know what they say, If you're 18 and a republican you have no heart, and if you're 30 and a democrat you have no brains.

are you saying that democrats should only be for young people then. That makes no sense. What they say is wrong.

i meant to say that only young people should be democrats, not democrats should be for young people. My mistake.

hahah well the "they" is winston churchill - he's a pretty smart dude you know...

i'm just bustin ya anyway. no worries :-)

"How come republicans are so stupid?"

We have to be to try to win over some democrats. They don't understand anything other than ignorance.

Islam belongs in the Middle east and North Africa. Not North America and Europe.

Edit: And give back Berlin, London and Paris. Not nice to take that away from Europeans like that (Sarcasm).

Double Edit: I also posted a picture of MLK at a communist convention on Wikipedia and they took it off and warned me. ***?

Islam is only growing more and more in Europe and N. America, and we'll inevitably be seeing some major clashes over it between Muslims and non-Muslims.

I don't see why there would have to be clashes.
Islam doesn't necessarily belong in the middle east and north africa. It's a religion, not an ethnicity. I was born and raised in the US. I'm American, not arab. It's like telling the Christians to go back to Europe and give North America back to the Native Americans.

Look at Western Europe. Huge tensions. Only about a month ago Arab and African Muslims went around burning France to the ground (The French as usual did what they did best, nothing). Le Pen (Le Front National) is most likely going to win the French elections in 2007 and he'll take care of the problem. Scandinavia is also having a tuff time with it also.

I'm one of those people who believe Europe should always remain European and be no more then 1 - 5% of non European ethnicity. Muslims tend to be non-European in the most part (Except for Albanians and Bosniak). It's more of a culture thing, you f-ck with European culture by moving there and building mosques and running around calling western women sluts.

i respect your opinion, but can you please tell me sources claiming Muslims to be "non-European?" What does "European" mean to you? Sorry to tell you this, but Muslims are immigrating there, not leaving. Islam is the fast growing religion in the continent, and it doesnt matter if you like it or not.

Who's fault is that? The Europeans. In France, they hire the north africans to do the work that the french don't wish to do. Much like how in the US mexican immigrants are hired to do menial labor jobs.

If they didnt want the muslims there, they could EASILY alter their immigration laws to prevent them from coming. They don't. Secondly, some mosques have been in Europe since the Moors in the 1200's
