Future Pharmacy Student

Hey Guys, My name is Maya.

I grew up and always wanted to work in the Health profession, and wanted to become
a Doctor, But after doing some reading and research over the past two years.
I have decided to study Pharmacy. I have an issue with surgeries, I just can't do it,
I have watched some practice surgeries and It just made me feel really uncomfortable.
But I always wanted to Help people. So I decided to Study Pharmacy because it interests
me and I am quite good with Biochemistry, Biology, Anatomy etc.
And I know that it is a good career in many ways. I will eventually want to start a family
of my own soon, and being a Doctor, would be kind of hectic with my personal life, and family time, I want to be there for my future family as much as I can.
And I Love Pharmacy so I definitely will pursue this career.
I would like to hear from any students that are studying Pharmacy or are already Pharmacists,
and would like to hear from their experiences and what I need to prepare myself with before I start my course. I am a hard working person and not at all lazy, and Love to study.
But I will really appreciate to hear some tips for Pharmacy school from you Guys out there:)

Thanks so Much,

Hi Maya!

Extremely late response lol. Im a high school senior but
my mum is a pharmacist :stuck_out_tongue: and what she told me is that it is a difficult field and one should expect a similar amount of workload that Med students get but i am guessing this shouldn’t be a problem. I am assuming that u are in the USA so as you probably know, u have to get a Pharm.D degree befpore taking the Pharmacy entrance test. Depending on the school, u might spend two years in the undergrad program then apply to pharmacy school but there are certain classes u must take. However, others want you to have a bachelor degree before heading to pharmacy school. The courseload is composed of chemistry (a whole lot of it), biology, calculus, physics, and organic chemistry. It is a difficult coursework but as long as you are dedicated to it, u shld be fine.
