FYS Course

When do we find out if we got into our FYS course?

Orientation, i believe.

does an FYS course count as one of the four courses (or five) we're supposed to be taking? what I mean to say is, is it a real course? or just something extra?

Its a full-credit course

so even if you got in it's not listed on http://registration.brown.edu ?

Correct; you won't know if you got it until orientation begins.

hmm. a lot of people are listing fys courses on their facebook profiles. heh.

The registration web site is now listing your FYS course; I got into BI0019.

Are you sure that means you got in?

does that mean i didnt get into mine because its not listed on the site as being one of my classes.

thanks for posting that the fys are online... so excited that i got my 1st choice (considering i didn't get a cap). i'm in pp0070 (issues facing edu policy)

yay!!! I got into my 1st choice as well. I also didn't get into a CAP course but this course was my 2nd CAP choice. Shakespeare's Present Tense.

I'm pretty sure if it lists it, you got in. Because it also says that permission has been filed (which I take means that the lottery was held).

I don't know what it means if it doesn't list it. Maybe the lottery hasn't been held for your course yet, but it probably means you didn't get it :( I think someone said that if you just show up at the class and continue going, the professor will eventually let you in. Also, some people might end up dropping the course.

Yep, do go to the class the first day and try to get in - you should be able to if it is not too wildly popular.

did anyone get into tropical biology?
