I have been basically living in Georgia my whole life as a kid and now I am a senior and ready to graduate within a few months. Now there is a issue and a problem. I'm not sure if I will keep my HOPE when I move to South Carolina because my family HAS to move. There is no way of getting around that. The counselor I talked to said I was HOPE eligibile but since I am moving I am not sure anymore and I want to get the right info. I NEED the scholarship for my colleges, without it, I am not sure what I will do because my parents really don't help me with anyway. I need advice on what I should do. My GPA is 3.4510 and my HOPE GPA is a 3.131. I withdrawn out of my GA high school with all A's and I missed about a month of school and I still need to take my SATs. The place that we found in GA was really nasty and it is being condemned so I have papers covering days that I have missed. The house that my family found in South Carolina is livable and kind of nice. I should be starting school this Tuesday. I have so much on my plate and so little time. I'm wondering by moving to South Carolina would that destroy my chances of ever getting the GA HOPE Scholarship? Please let me know ASAP.

I am almost positive (99.99%) that the Ga lottery scholarship can only be used at qualifying GA schools. It cannot be taken out of state. Sorry.

If you don’t live in Georgia, you won’t be eligible for the Hope Scholarship (which can only be used for GA colleges). If you have moved to SC and are attending a SC high school, you won’t get Hope. But you should look into the SC state scholarships that are offered.
