I don't know enough to chance you but I don't think being from north dakota counts as a hook...

what else could i offer up to help you? and yeah, you're probably right.

help a girl out.
please.

Hi adai1991!

I'll help you out. It's been a while since I chanced someone on this wonderful site.

Let's see ... yes being from ND doesn't make you special. Moving on ...

Your 4.0 UW GPA / 4.3 W GPA is perfect! Good job on maintaining that GPA. You beat me by .17. Moreover, you are taking the most challenging courseload that your school offers, which demonstrates that you took the initiative to challenge yourself and that you enjoy learning (or you're just a cutthroat pixie trying to impress colleges). However, I'm not familiar about what a 5 point course is, but I'll assume that it's a difficult class. (relatively speaking). Your ACT of 33 is pretty good, which places you in the Top 1% in the US, and your PSAT is also good, but not as good. Don't predict your SAT II scores ... you'll never know what you really got until you log on to Collegeboard.com at 5am on the morning they release the scores. Your ECs are also quite decent. I like how you won the AMC in your school ... at my school, that's almost impossible because there are people called geniuses. (I'm not one) The other honors are pretty good, but in most cases, school-wide honors are trivial.

With the exception of the AMC high scorer (though it's probably not too much of a high score because you didn't mark down yourself as an AIME Qualifier ... don't worry I didn't qualify either because I'm a loser), there's not much on your app that distinguishes yourself from the crowd -- yes, you do have a ton of leadership positions. However, you can still do alot with the essay. Remember, not many people can write good essays.

Chances:
HYPS: Reach
WashU: Slight reach
Rice: Match ... maybe
Duke: Slight reach

Good luck!
