You cant just throw out your stat's and say where will i fit...instead, you should look at what you want to study in college. Your SAT's are a bit low, either GSP or Reject, depending on if you need financial aid or not.

i've seen people with lower stats than you get accepted, although i don't know which school of NYU, so don't get discouraged =) you probably shouldn't apply to stern, though. if you have a really good reason for applying to individualized study and are a strong writer, then apply to gallatin. otherwise, apply to CAS but i think you might get referred to GSP.

People on this site are so random in that I have similar SATs and a 3.85uw gpa but almost everyone has told me that I am a match for NYU and not really said anything about GSP when my numbers aren't much higher than yours (though I would consider my ECs to be above average...maybe that makes a big difference?)

Anyways, as far as Stern goes I would say don't apply there. I would also discourage applying to Gallatin just because you think it might be easier to get into. From what I understand, if Gallatin isn't really a good fit for you, you'll have a harder time getting in there than CAS as Gallatin is looking for a specific type of student.

What do you want a major in? I'm going to assume something business-y if your looking at Stern. But that kind of makes a big difference in what school to apply to...

I'm thinking Stern would be a reach for you, but I would say that you are a match for CAS and Gallatin. But don't apply to Gallatin unless you actually want individualized study. You can take Stern classes at Gallatin but NYU isn't going to let you use Gallatin as a backdoor into Stern.

Ask YOURSELF what you want, THEN find a school. Choosing a school at NYU simply because you'de have the easiest time getting in is very short sighted, since you'll have to live with that for 4 years. The three schools you mentioned are very different from each other, and random people on this forum can't make up your mind for you, (though helpful as they are). It seems silly to me to put the schools admission criterea over your own personal interests. If you don't even know what school at NYU is a match for you, why do you even want to go there? So you can wear the sweatshirt? Remember: in the end, it's all about YOUR college experience, not the name on the diploma.

actually.... i am anything but "short sighted" and was not asking anyone to "make up my mind for me". I was simply asking their OPINION. I am not looking at NYU for prestige by the way. Not the top thing on my list. And FYI.... for the major I'm looking at, all three colleges provide it. OK??? thanks..... not to get snippy though....
