gallatin vs. cas

Hi,
I would like to know if NYU is a good school for history majors

also, i'm in gallatin....and i was interested in studying history, and I don't know whether the best choice would be to transfer to CAS to major in history....or just stick to gallatin...
which one is more reputable and would help me more in the future in terms of careers?

My guess is that nobody gives a damn about which college within a specific school you graduated from --- your major usually pre-determines the school. Galatin could help you if you take advantage of what it offers - to put together your own program of study in a manner that demonstrates drive and capability for original analysis and thinking. However, this only applies to the very first job you get. With exception of a few areas of employment, where degree snobbism is rampant (academics, business, medicine, law), nobody will pay much attention where you graduated from when you interview for your second or third job.
