Ok so I’ve been thinking of doing a Gap Year. Problem is I don’t really know what to expect. My gap year would be a travel abroad program going from country to country and discovering new things. Problem is, on these travel programs what do you do? Cause I’ve traveled France in like 2 weeks and I saw a lot there, but that was two weeks. Basically what I’m asking is what would we do all that time? Do you work there? Live there? or just travel from place to place nonstop. I know there’s some volunteering but what else? Or can I can I get the same effect over the summer just traveling in one country for a month or two, really living there and experiencing the culture. OR (i swear im almost done with this part) will I get the same effect of traveling on those programs that go from london, to amsterdam, to france, to spain in ten days?
Secondly, is it better just to work or travel? I know it’s different for everyone, but I want to know why someone would work and why someone would travel/what people earn off of both experiences.
Also, is it better to do it before undergrad or after undergrad? I’m interested in medicine so hopefully I would go to medical school. (just a little insight).
Really my thoughts are all over the place, as you see. That’s why I need some opinions and some insight into previous experiences/pros and cons
Thank you!
