Nerdy, yes. This even applies to the athletes; I’ve seen football players watch youtube videos of expert Guitar Hero runs before class, for example. Antisocial, no. Very rarely will you ever find the SAC fields or the CRC empty. The Greek Sector is always lively on the weekends, if that’s your thing. And there are many active student organizations that regularly hold meetings and host events.

I never had a car while I was at Tech, so I seldom went off-campus. In fact, I didn’t get a “taste of Atlanta” until the evening before I graduated, thanks to a friend who gave some of my other friends and I a driving tour of Inman Park and the surrounding areas. So I stayed on-campus almost all of the time, and I never felt bored. Many people love playing video games, but if that’s not your thing, you should never have a hard time joining a frisbee or soccer game. Just be warned that you might be playing soccer with a bunch of Asian or African international students!

fabrizio: that’s awesome! i’m asian too and i was also wondering if i would be able to fit in hehe. but… what if video games AND sports games/greek life aren’t my thing? what kind of clubs are on campus?

Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association, numerous cultural interest groups, political advocacy, student journalism, community service, the list goes on.

And don’t worry, regardless of where your family hails from in Asia, you will not have a hard time fitting in. I don’t think it’s realistically possible to graduate without making at least one Asian friend :)
