My D is currently in the middle of choosing between Georgia Tech engineering undecided, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign engineering undecided, and Carnegie Mellon University (CIT, waitlist to SCS). She is also waitlisted to Cornell and may get in there. The big question is, how do these all compare for engineering? Specifically, she is interested in robotics, ECE, CS, and MechE and is torn between them.

Things like job prospects, opportunities, networking, starting salaries, education, prestige, etc. obviously all matter, but the campus sizes, atmospheres (i.e. party school, etc.), diversity and such all matter. We're reasonably well off and thus aren't receiving any financial aid at any of the given schools; thus, cost is also a consideration.

If you were in this situation, how would you compare the schools and what would you choose?
