Hey guys!
I have a problem =/
I finished my application, got to the signature page, typed in my signature, and pressed submit. But the system did not submit my signature. Like on my application status, everything is there except my signature. Does this mean they won’t consider my application? I got an email saying they received it, but I seriously don’t want to be disqualified for something that wasn’t even my fault.

@skhaer
I listed the “end” date for my current leadership activities as the last day of school.

So do we have to be studying one of those to get the scholarship? I am almost done with my application, then I noticed the “supported disciplines” bit. I’m so stupid! I can’t believe I didn’t read it before.

“Graduate school funding for continuing Gates Millennium Scholars in the areas of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science”

It says for graduate school. Does that mean they will cover you for undergraduate even if you study something else? I am going to study English.

Oh thank god!

“The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American*, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest.”

I can’t muster the strength nor courage to press the “Submit” button.

I finished writing my essays today. Do you think it’s okay if I have some that are only 3,000 characters? Or will that look bad.

Another question, does the country you are from have any impact on the students they choose? For example, do they try to diversify the winners within a particular group? For example (Bolivian applicant may be seen different from a Mexican or Puerto Rican applicant, as they are the majority within the minority)?

i just submit my application…good luck to anyone who’s still writing their essays!!!

How long was everyone else’s question 4? Mine only ended up being ~3000, but it’s awfully hard to stretch out, and it seems to be the most precise question out of them all. I’m about ready to just submit though, my brain is just fried, especially with finals in high school coming next week.

I just got done writing my essays. All I have to do now is type them up and let my Ap lit teacher look over them. It feels hood to be almost done : )

Lol sorry meant good not hood.

I have some essays around 3,000 characters. I think it’s probably quality over quantity?

question 3 was my shortest as well, about 2 pages.

for the leadership and community service stuff, DID YOU put it in paragraph form?
I did bullets but they look funny when you view them from the “status” thing.

I put mine in paragraph form. But that’s just how I do things.

cool, thanks, any one else reccomend doing it a certain way?

oh s*** the website is already freaking out on me. NOOOOOOOOOOO.

oh my gosh. i was just finalizing my application this entire day and i was about to submit it when the link to the login cite does not work!?

Please Lord, don’t let this be it…

is anyone experiencing the same issue???

The website has now crashed. Lol.

Nooooooo! I still need to copy and paste 5 essays, and then write one more essay! Nooooooo! I also have to write the description of my ec’s!!!

This means I have to finish my essay during school somehow and also get in my recs through the mail.

does that mean all of us that procrastinated are officialy screwed? :(
