@ RayJohn, Where are you from?!

I thought rejection letters would come out later? This is weird. Even though there is a strong chance that I will be rejected I feel relieved. Hopefully il recieve a letter too today. I’m tired of waiting.

I am also a finalist, S.C.
I have a problem though. For some reason when I did my FAFSA and received my SAR, it said that immigration didn’t have enough information to confirm that I am a US’s resident. I don’t know why I did wrong…What should I do? Can I still submit my SAR? Would I get penalized for it? PLEASE HELP ME, this is really important!

Im a AA finalist from NJ. found out march 08

@dcollegeapps I’m an AA from NJ and I still havent found out yet. I’m still hopeful, but I don’t know. Do you think they’re notifying by order of states??

Gavame: well the last thing you wanna do is not submit anything. So submit your sar and see what happens. You should also try calling the gates number to see if they can help.

Rayjohn: what state do you live in and what’s your ethnicity?

Losing hope here. This was my meal ticket… x(

This must mean we are all rejected by now.

I hope RayJohn was just ■■■■■■■■.

@leirsyn no we’re not all rejected by now b/c notifications will continue to go out until the end of the month. this was just the first week. i’m not giving up hope, i’m just not.

@JSea11 I live in Maryland and i’m African American, The letter was dated for March 10, and I received it today March 12 from a Virginia address…it also said that over 23,500 applicants applied if anyone was interested in knowing that…

I think that the whole notification process is disorganized. People from random states are being notified at random times. I’m finding it hard to belief that there is an actual notification order (alphabetical, by state, by region, by race, w/e).

And to hear that someone got a rejection letter when we were told that they wouldn’t be coming out until the end of the month just reinforces the fact that this whole process is disordered. But, oh well. I guess we just have to deal with it and wait.

@RayJohn or any others…

when u called did it say the 0-5 thing before you recieved ur notification letter in the mail, or did it just say a letter has been sent home?

it said a letter has been sent

aw mannnnn…urg

What does the 0-5 thing mean?

@journey2success: Different states get them at different times because everything is being sent from VA. Usually, the different racial scholarship organizations email/mail within a few days of each other, but I really can’t tell this year.

Based on other posts, I would say that the “0-5 thing” is all of what the email tells you to bring (transcript, SAR, etc.).

23,500? Damn population growth! It’s always screwing us over!

RayJohn, what else can you tell us?

well…thats it really, since my rejection letter was sent out only 2 days after finalist emails were sent out…its seems as though they have sent out all finalists emails already, sorry

Wow, they really ended the notification process early this year.

3/11/11:

In all the other threads, they’ve never sent out rejection letters, THIS early.

We’ll see what happens. And how many finalists did they select this year?
