what exactly were ur stats

Anybody else have a school with no profile?

My school didn’t, but we made one.

I have almost everything ready to submit, just need the letter of acceptance!!! I was notified of the acceptance via email but not have received that actual letter

Rejected today. :(

GMA has received all of my documents as of yesterday! I can finally breathe relief again…

Time to wait. I wish us all the best of luck and if this in God’s plan for us I know we’
ll get it :)

Ok I faxed all my stuff on tuesday… and I still get the 0-5 message… How long did you guys have to wait until you received an updated notification from the 877 number?

I faxed my documents tuesday as well and when I called Wednesday they had received them.

I realized that all I did was fax everything in one bunch, thinking that the my name on a couple of sheets would be enough… Should i send them everything again? And did you write anything on your papers? Like your nominee number?

carlitosboy15,

I think my d put her name and SSN on every page - at least on all the pages of the SAR and the school profile - those pages that didn’t already have some identification on them. Have you called to check your status? If they already state that they have 5/5, you should be good to go! If not, maybe wait and see as it took about two days from receipt of the documents until her status changed from 0/5 to 5/5…

Good Luck!

It took a couple of days

My parents told me they left me a voicemail days ago… BLAH! I mailed all the copies to them today as well. I called but i don’t know how to talk to a representative.

Ok I just called. They said they called me to make sure I had received my email and snailmail finalist notification and while I was at it, I called to see if they had received my stuff… YES! My package is complete! :D

I didn’t put my name on every sheet but they still said I had 5 out of 5 documents. So I think that’s good enough.

I sent them all of my docs except my school profile, because my GC told me that it was on my transcript. I included a letter explaining that and apparently they didn’t read it or open my transcript because it says that they’ve only received 4/5 of my docs :(

Damn.

Pell-grant eligibility used to be the major eliminator of finalists (if you look back at the earliest threads of GMS). They have really increased the terms of eligibility this year. Last year, an EFC of 4617 was the threshold. This year, it’s an EFC of 5273.

And Americans aren’t getting any richer. They’ve also had a record number of apps this year, so they probably chose a slightly larger number of finalists, too.

Get ready for a super-competitive finalist round in April.

This sucks.

NIGGARDLY how do you know the efc of 5273 is it…

I called them up at 1-800-433-3243 also looked through their website: [IFAP - Dear Colleague Letters](http://www.ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/P1003.html)

Don’t be led on just because you are a finalist (it’s not like how it used to be) and feel accomplished after finishing the lengthy application. Do what you have to do and ignore the scholarship and this entire thread.

There’s a very good chance (closer to 50% than last year) that we won’t get selected as finalists.

There is no way anyone or anything that can tell you what your chances are. You might find out about the selection criteria, but those terms are still very broad and general. They don’t seem to have any preference for lower incomes after verifying your Pell-grant eligibility.

If you can get it, God-willing, congrats.

I think this will be my last post. I don’t want to be OCD over something and end up not getting it.

^ very optimistic :)
