I am apart of the UNCF. I wonder when they are sending there’s out.

So people are getting notified for the Gates right now or the APIASF? Not the APIASF scholarship. This is getting me so nervous. So they started sending out the letters today? I’m Asian, so I’m paranoid that I didn’t get it. Do they send a rejection letter or email?

I’m also apart of the UNCF.

@UGABound Did you get yours?

I am as well. I got so nervous when I saw that someone had received their notification already! Then I kind of got relieved when I saw that it was jus for a specific ethnicity. I’m thinking the the UNCF will be last since it’s one of the larger groups of people who apply and get the scholarhsip. Good luck to every person and let all of us know if you are a finalist or not!! I can’t wait to see if I am a finalist or not! It’s so exciting!

@geiger42, I just got back on the thread since this weekend and I read your last post back to me, DON’T WORRY you’re going to get it!! U have awesome credentials on all three areas! u got this:)

Also, I’m part of the HSF part of the GMS and haunt received notification

One last thing, to people who have received notification, are the notifications sent from the GMS headquarters or from the headquarters of yalls respectful branch?

To those who were already notified, did you receive a letter in the mail or were you notified by email first?

I just got the email. Finalist!

Did anyone else get a email yet?

i havent gotten an email, has anyone who is not a finalist gotten an email?

FINALIST !!! Asian from Texas . I received an email this morning, and it was from APIASF ! Good Luck everyyyyyyyoneeee (:

I just received an email from APIASF! (:

When you become a semi-finalist, what factors would dismiss you from the FINALIST selection process? Do they still look at the essays, community service, and leadership information?

Goodluck to everyone else!

@801378 , I don’t think they look at those 3 criteria anymore. They will look at your supporting documents and your EFC , and to make sure that everything you said on your application was true. The most important thing should be your EFC and pell grant eligibility.

congratulations! When are they going to notify the African American group? I am so nervous!

@Yennieboo

Thank you! I read last year’s thread and there were people with 00000 EFC and full pell grant eligible, but they were still denied! I am just afraid this semi-finalist selection process is only going to get my hopes up!

FINALIST! Southern California, APIASF! :)

I just got the letter!!! This is what it looks like.

Guys, how many finalists move on and receive theActual scholarship? Furthermore, if one does not have an efc of 00000, does that mean that onehave less chances of moving on?

@geiger42, Nope haven’t gotten anything yet. I’m super nervous…

1000 Scholarship will be awarded in mid April. The number of finalists were never disclosed, there were a few guesses that are about 1900 or something like that. But we never know for sure. About the second round, nobody know how they narrow it down either. We only know that we are supposed to submit all supporting documents and hope for the best. One of the representative told me that “The SAR report is the most important document.” Therefore, your EFC is important. BUT even if you have a high EFC, that doesn’t means you won’t have a chance. Vice versa. One thing we know for sure, “it’s the best thousand.”
