Geez, I guess you guys won't stop panicking and won't be satisfied unless I agree that the number of AP's and IB's are hugely important (the determining factor) and if you haven't taken at least 20 AP classes, irregardless of the number your school offers and your own academic ability, then you most definitely will not be chosen for the GMS scholarship and first thing tomorrow you should swing by McDonald's because your future holds nothing more promising then flipping burgers.

In many respects this is more nerve wracking than college admissions, I mean if I don't get into Harvard, whatever, but this scholarship can help me go to any of the good colleges I got into regardless of their FinAid package.

Yeah, GMS would pay for what I could never afford.

::fingers crossed::!

Just don't worry so much, you guys. I always feel like this thread is so tense and panicked. A great philosopher once said: Don't worry, be happy.

Man... Since I need to verify my citizenship, I need to send in a financial aid award. Which my I don't get until April 1st. This stinks. I won't find out until then.

a great philosopher? you mean bob marley?
lmao

but seriously guys...all we can do is wait. Can't help BUT wait.
seriously...que sera sera. whatever happens happens. it's just meant to be.

who am i kidding???? shoot...i'm so nervous i might pee my pant. (jk not that intense but you get my point) this whole college process seriously cut off 8 years of my life span already. the stress of exam in college is nothing compare how i feel right now

ok so i have a question, i've been wainting for mine for a looooooooooooong time like a lot of us, and i just want to know what are the stats for some of you guys dat have already gotten it and even if you havent gotten it. im latino, so it would help even more if i heard from a latino

ok so i had a 3.707 weighed, i had over 130 hrs of community service, president of astronomy club, secretary of french club, CSF for 6 semesters, taken ap chem, got a 3, and im currently taking ap calculus, ap physics, ap french, ap spanish, econ, modern lit, and i have been in crosscountry and track all four years, have scholar athlete awards and I also have perfect attendance for the past 3 years....you think this would help at all??

Okay, I'm in Texas and I haven't received ANYTHING yet. I'm AA and one of my AA friends got his rejection notice in the mail last Friday the 21st. AND, when I called the Gates people today to check the status of my application, they said they didn't have a file for me when I know for a FACT that they do because when I turned it in, I had one of their people verify it.

Sooooo I guess you can tell I'm starting to get a little impatient haha.

can someone answer my question, please? I have just inputted my community service hours yesterday in the school computer system, but I sent my transcript to GMS 3 days ago. Since the community service box in the my transcript reads "0 hours' ... do you think my chances of getting the scholarship is jeopardized? Should I call them and ask if I should send a new transcript? PLEASE HELP ME! :)

if i were u, i would call and ask...idk...well, they only need the transcript to verify ur gpa, they won't be looking at other stuff (i assume) cuz my transcript doesn't have anything besides my grades...we don't have any boxes for sat scores, community service or whatever...
