I'm most likely attending Brown. The hard part was getting in. The harder part was paying for it.

Brown took care of the first, and most of the second, but GMS would still help me out a lot.

Brown got the funny idea that since I work, I must be able to pay a couple thousand dollars. I'm not complaining about having to pay a couple thousand for an Brown education, it's just not exactly easy in my situation. Yes, I worked and on paper I made a bit of money, but there's a reason why there's a difference between my total income, and the amount of money I actually have in the bank. What wasn't taken out in taxes, was spent on important essentials: gas money so I can get to work, the 5 AP exams I'm taking, etc.

It's not like I'm hiding money in a Swiss bank account! lol

Speak_Easy- Yes GMS covers for work-study...that's only if you declined it from your financial aid paper that Brown sent you. If you declined it, GMS will pay for it, but it you accepted it on your own, then No.

so if ppl who submitted their docs on 17th r getting notified now, i guess, ppl who submitted their docs on 26th will have to wait another week...this wait is killing me...i am so depressed right now...i am finalist for usa/funds scholarship and today is the postmark deadline, i have NO way of going to the post office now to send in my docs...i didn't get my tax forms until yesterday, so, i had to wait until today to send them... so so depressed...i need money to go to college!!! sorry, got off topic but im stressed out! :(

I called GMS to get my username and password for the website and once again it said my information is invalid? Does any of the scholars have this problem?

Mr Tang: I know exactly how you feel, I just felt it not too long ago lol, maybe 2 hours? After I got the mail, I went to my brother's room and screamed at him haha, he was still sleeping. He was just like alright high-five and then went back to sleep, what a bum. Nobody is home really and I called my best friend and she's shopping so we didn't talk long and then I called my aunt and she was in shopping too so really you guys are the only ones who shared my joy with me :). I wish you guys the best of luck!!!

when did u submit ur docs mr. tang?
i don't know what to do...i just want my notifications...
speak_easy, i know u r gonna say "relax" but i can't, i want my notification

When I called, they said to type in SSN for username and birthdate for password and I did both about a million times and I failed everytime gahh I guess i will just email april.

memberofthevrwc: Have you called anyone from GMS to inquire about this problem? It's the weekend so I just emailed my person, but she probably won't reply anytime soon. I was thinking I'll wait until monday to call and talk to her directly. I understand that you recieved notification a few days ealier though so did you just keep trying to see if your ssn and password would work or did you find more info on this problem?

I know I've been the one who's always like, "Relax, don't worry, notifications will come."

But is it time for me to be worried?

I'm from MA. Submitted my stuff the week of the 17th (not sure exact day snail mail arrived at APIASF offices) and had my application confirmed as completed on 3/25.

I don't feel like I need to panic!, but have I reached the stage to go into panic mode and I'm just not aware of it?

The 25th is really recent. I don't think you need to panic yet. I was confirmed on the 13th, therefore I think I am the one who needs to panic the MOST. Oh man =(
