<p>Congratulations on UC Davis. May I ask what tribe you are and where you are located. Does UC Davis have a large Native community on campus? Did you by chance attend the Dartmouth Native Fly-in this past fall?</p>

<p>Yes, and that’s 3000 miles away from home for me. I really had a hard time deciding between Dartmouth and Stanford but I appreciate the fact that it was a problem many students would like to have had. They are just so very different from weather, to student community, to class size, etc. but ultimately Stanford won out. I might look back East Coast for grad school though. We’ll see. Stanford has a wonderful Native community and support system in place for Native students. My brother loved his undergrad years there and is now staying to do his PHD in California. So, at least I will have some family close by. </p>

<p>@sinaj I’m a member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, a small reservation located in Northern California. I have not had a chance to meet any of the Native community at Davis, but I know that they do have an active Native group and I am looking forward to connecting with them in the fall. I plan to major in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior as a member of the Honors Program. Soo excited for the years that are ahead of me, and am quietly (and nervously) waiting to hear news from Gates.
