Cool. Thanks for the link.

Awesome day! Congrats new Lts!

Wow, this graduation is great (I'm watching it on the Pentagon Channel). It's pretty funny to watch the new Lt.'s run down the ramp after getting their diplomas. Several of the Lt.'s knocked each other down. Lots of hats fell off, too.

I thought it was pretty funny when Secretary Gates mentioned the Dancing Cadet. Secretary Gates' speech was very inspiring, too. Congrats, 2007!

Well, only 4 weeks till we head for the 'Springs!

Awesome speech for sure.

The T-bird air show was awesome, amazing even! I had a good time there. It's something you all should look forward to if you intend to stick it out here!

Dr. Gates is an amazing speaker, i heard him at the last yell practice at A&M, when he was saying goodbye...had me in tears, as well as all the Corps guys, which was actually kind of amusing, but mostly moving!

there's a Pentagon Channel? i guess i shouldn't be surprised.

I always feel at home with government officials, all of them seem to be from near me! Especially with many friends at A&M.

Yep, the Pentagon Channel is available on the East Coast and probably more places (not sure). All the news anchors are in uniform, which I thought was pretty cool. You can also watch it on the web, live. That's what I did, and then my Wi-Fi on my laptop lost the connection. Oh well, at least I got to see Secretary Gates' speech.

hornetguy, where were the rest of the cadets during the ceremony? Oh, and congrats to you, 3-digs, on your newly aquired class status. I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll after Beast. Good luck with jump, hornetguy!

Thanks man.

The rest of us were in the very top by the press boxes, which was actually a good location. Very awesome with the T-birds are only about 100 feet above your head!

It must have been so exciting to witness an academy graduation.
Hornet, did watching the graduation make you feel any nervous anticipation of your own graduation?

It made me want mine to be here sooner! I had feelings of excitement seeing what's in my future. Happiest I've seen many firsties (now LTs!) in a long time.

Congrats to the new 3 digs! By the way, Gates' entire speech can be seen here: http://www.pentagonchannel.mil/

Can I ask who were the people on the "stage"? VIPs, deans, etc?
Why were cadets up there?
Is the yellow sash only at graduation? Don't think I've seen that anywhere...

Thanks for the link! Great speech!

The VIPs were people like the Supt., Comm, Dean, SECAF, SecDef, and some other high ranking people. The cadets were part of Eagle 8, the top scoring squad this year.

...And the yellow sash is worn by seniors and only graduating seniors.

Thanks for the help!
So wish I coulda made it down there to actually know this stuff!!
