Gateway Application Trouble: uploading graded essay

Has anyone uploaded their graded essay? I'm having trouble with it and their help is not proving to be the best. Does anyone have some helpful hints to how I can upload my essay?

I had the same problem. I called the company and emailed them my essay. THey changed it to a different type of pdf format or something and emailed it back to me. It worked perfectly. Call this #, 410-243-1014. Tell them your problem and they will take care of it. Make sure you state its for gateway to prep schools website

I changed it to PDF. That’s the only way it works for me because the paper had to be scanned that way. Also, a good idea is to email it directly to the admissions of the school.

I emailed them and I was able to contact someone in the technical department who is now helping me upload it. Thanks for the help!

If the essay is two pages and they only allow you to upload one file, what do you do ?

no problem @kittycat1
@endthestarts if you scanned it, you should be able to scan both pages as 1 file

wait, I did scan it but when I try to upload it, its two separate files.

Adobe Reader also offers their version of a “convert to .pdf” online. I forgot where, though…your scanner might have the “.pdf” function as well, like mine does. What scanner do you have, endthestars?

But all fails, call the Gateway Technical Department ;)

Fax the paper to the schools-- this way you know that they have received it. Schools will take faxed copies, even if the rest of your application is on line. Or mail it-- so long as it is postmarked today (1/15) you will be ok–and some schools --PA, BUA for example have a 1/31 deadline.

Although the website seems to have given everyone a tough time somewhere in the application process, go to the help and there is a email address to ask for help by. I asked if they could help me, I then sent my paper and they sent it back to me in a different format. It worked really well. If you’re still having trouble I would recommend emailing their technical staff.

I figured out how to combine the two files, thanks guys !
