Gay at BU

is BU a good environment for a young gay student?

Well, lots of young gay people choose to go there so I guess it's pretty good. :D

There is a very large gay population at BU, plus its five minutes away from Emerson where I've been told the slogan is "Gay by May". Everyone is generally very accepting. No worries :)

i heard Oberlin, American University, NYU, and Vassar are prettty accepting of Gay studs

Yes, BU seems very gay-friendly. Boston is a pretty liberal place to begin with. BU's Spectrum club (the GSA) was bustling at their first meeting.

bu has a large gay population.

GW is another school of the same rank, where it is a large majority female, the minority male population is greatly gay.

Most colleges these days are 60-40 female to male ratio. There are exceptions but this is true on average. Don't see BU as having any more or less gay students than any other college in a city, although SF and NYC will be more gay friendly. Gay kids that wouldn't "come out" in HS will probably be more comfortable doing so on just about any campus except the BYUs of the world. There is no noticeable so called gay presence at BU like you'll see at schools like NYU though. You can probabaly go on any school's web site and see if they have any clubs/organizations for minority kids including sexual minorities.
