Hi everyone! I’m thinking about attending DePauw in the fall and I was wondering about how many LGBT people are on campus. I’m not looking for a huge LGBT community or I would’ve applied to larger state schools, but I would like to feel accepted on campus. I know Indiana can be pretty harsh toward the gay community, but is it the same at DePauw? Are the students accepting? I know DePauw is more conservative than most other selective colleges so I was curious. Thanks all!
Most college students are nonplussed, even conservative students. Will you find immature people, sure.
A good way to find out:
Email fraternities/sororities and ask how many LGBTQ members they have.
Email the LGBTQ group(s) on campus and ask the same questions as well as about social life with dating, etc.
