Gay Culture -- What is it like?

I don’t know a lot about this school and was hoping someone could describe the gay culture at Vassar, if there is any.

I’m not gay and so I’m probably not the best person to understand or describe “gay culture” anywhere, the nuances, but in general Vassar is known for being extremely accepting of all sorts of different ways of going about life. It’s a school that’s known for not batting an eye regarding being gay or not being gay – or anything in between. People are known for being open and accepting. Generally being gay is hardly noticed at Vassar and I would expect that a gay person would feel welcome there. I wouldn’t hesitate to send my gay child to Vassar. I would know that he/she/they would feel comfortable.

I have a gay child who attends Vassar and to paraphrase him, “I can be exactly who I am here”. Vassar is where he feels most himself and while he’s always been a happy kid, I’ve never seen him this happy and self-confident. As @Dustyfeathers said, he’s mentioned that no one even bats an eye at him or anyone else for that matter. Uniqueness is embraced all around. He has many straight friends, both male and female. It’s a wonderful, accepting environment - from academics right on down to sports, clubs and activities.
