GCE A-Level

Any A-level and GCSE students here who got accepted to US universities? If yes please post your stats

Yep, my friend got admitted into Duke university with the following:
A-level = 5As in Maths, Economics, F.Maths, Physics and Chemistry
GCSE = 6As and 5Bs in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, F.maths, Economics, History, Geo, Commerce, Computer, religion.
Extracurricular activities = Maths club president, House coach…etc
Class Position = Top 5%
Hope it helps.

5 A-levels? wow im only taking 3 but thats because these are the only ones offered in our area.

Ah…3 is the limit of your School?..

i’m home-schooled actually and i left school in 10th because of the poor and deteriorating educational system in my country so i go to tutors for these subjects, and the only available tutors teach math, chemistry and biology

Oh I see…you can self-study F.Maths or economics to add-up. But 3 is still perfect as long as you secure As in them.

Im expecting an A* in bio and chem, as for math im expecting an A. The thing is i’m worried a B at AS in math looks bad, even though it means ill get an A in the complete alevel

Wow…2A*s and 1A will be perfect to get you a top college…yh a B in AS maths always somewhat looks bad but then getting an A in A-level cover-up…

well im hoping my gcse grades compensate for it since i have 5 A* 1 A and 2 B’s. Plus i’ve got a ranking in english as a second language (highest mark in my region). Repeating AS math is just too much pressure for me, should i repeat it or just leave it at that?

oh and btw keep in mind an A is the highest mark in AS component.

I will advice that if you are confident to get the A in Maths A-level then the B in AS is just Ok…wish you the best in your Exam :)>-

Thank you :))
