GE classes grades

I am freshman mechanical engineering student and recently completed my first year in college. I get a scholarship every semester that helps pay for college. But in spring there was a mix up with the paperwork, which led me to work more than usual and I couldn’t pay attention to my classes as much as I would have liked to. I am sure I will end up with a D in my Bio class (GE). I also took physics, calc 2, manufacturing processes class and another GE class and have A’s in all of them. I plan on retaking Bio over summer. How bad would that look on my transcript in the future? does it hurt my chances on getting into grad school or with employers?

If you are just a freshman, you can probably discuss how adjusting to college might have been difficult for you, and how that was a learning experience for you. As long as you maintain good grades for the remainder of your college career, and your overall GPA is reasonable, you should be fine.
