General Biology or Intro to Biology?

I will be a Human anthropology major or public health major. How are they different? Which i better for me? I want to study epidemics....dieseases

Typically, one is specifically for science majors and the other for non-majors, often used to satisfied a core or general requirement.

The one that’s intended for biology majors is probably better for you, considering your interests, but realize that you will face stiff competition because the premedical students, who must get excellent grades to qualify for medical school, will be in there with you.

My suggestion would be to take the more rigorous course but make sure that your schedule as a whole isn’t overly demanding because the biology course is going to take up a lot of your time. This would not be a good time to take 20 credits or start an intensive foreign language course, for example.

i took ap bio…so I think I would be slighlty more prepared

You need to read the school’s info on each biology course and talk to your advisor there. Likewise with the major. Check on the courses required and recommended for each major, plus descriptions for your college. Things can vary between schools.

Bingo and great point, Marian!
