General Education requirements for the 6 UCSD colleges

These are the requirements for IGETC certified transfers taken from each college's website:

Warren-3 upper division classes

"Three non-contiguous (unrelated to your major) upper-division courses are required. These courses must be taken at UCSD, must be 4.0 units each, and must be upper-division (courses numbered as 100 or above). They may be taken on a Pass/No Pass basis, and may be contiguous to each other. For transfer students entering before fall 2009, only two courses are required. View Transfer GE Chart for details."

Academic Requirements

Marshall- 2 upper division classes, one of which must include significant writing (approved list available at http://vac.ucsd.edu)

Follow the link and go to Disciplinary Breadth Course Section. It says 4 courses, but if you go to the bottom it says IGETC students don't need to take the two lower division ones.

http://marshall.ucsd.edu/pdfs/GE_SHEET.pdf

Muir- I have heard two, but I'm not completely sure. Here are some links.

John Muir College :: Celebrating the Independent Spirit
http://muir.ucsd.edu/academics/documents/GradChecklistfillin.pdf

Sixth- 2 courses. One is a practicum course and the other is reflective writing. The practicum seems to be a project course where you do some sort of learning through community service project.

"If you transferred through the Transfer Preparation Programs (TAG Completed or IGETC Certified Program), you must take the upper-division Practicum course/ project and CAT 125"

GE Requirements - Transfer Students
Sixth College Practicum

Eleanor Roosevelt- 3 Making of the Modern World courses. That is all. Transfers usually take three of the following: MMW 1 (no writing required), MMW 4 or 4T (4T is for transfers only), MMW 5, and MMW 6. You have to take them in sequence, so either 1,4,5 or 4,5,6. 4-6 require 10 page papers at the end of the courses. As well as pre-writing every few weeks.

"IGETC Certified or IGETC partial (either are noted on Academic History)

* Complete any three MMW courses (all other GE courses will be waived)
* Earn a minimum of 180 units (60 of which must be upper division) with a minimum UC GPA of 2.00"

Revelle- 8 courses on top of IGETC (3 calculus, 2 science, and 3 foreign language) It may be less depending upon what classes you have already taken.

"Calculus Requirement: IGETC requires one semester of math. Revelle requires 2 semesters (or 3 quarters) of calculus. "
"Science Requirement: IGETC requires two semesters (or 3 quarters) of science. Revelle requires a minimum of five quarters specifically in chemistry, physics and biology"
"Language Proficiency Requirement: Revelle requires a 3rd semester or 4th quarter of college level language to meet this requirement"

[url=http://revelle.ucsd.edu/new-students/igetc-plus.html]IGETC Plus](http://roosevelt.ucsd.edu/mmw/courses/index.html)

I think humanities and social science majors get boned in Revelle. If you don't want to have to take all those extra GE classes at Revelle follow this link.

Oh man, now that I looked at the requirement you just compiled, I actually don’t have to take any courses if I got admitted to Revelle LOL

Calculus series: All done! Maxed out math class to take at my college.
Science requirement: Good to go!
Language: Didn’t take any but English wasn’t my first language so I have no problem of taking language Proficiency test.

Hidden gem :O

I’m always one step ahead of you Argo lol. Hopefully we can both transfer into colleges that are better for us.

Holy ****, Revelle’s GE suck lol.
