General Personal Statement Questions for UC SYSTEM

I am looking to transfer to either UCLA or UCI and I am currently working on my personal statement. I am looking at their website here :

I was wondering if anyone knew if the format for this personal statement would be a single essay or would it be a format where you answer each questions individually.

OR

would it be something were I blend all of the answers into one essay?

First time doing a personal statement so any help is greatly appreciated!!

New format this year: The website states 4 short answer essays with a word limit of 350, not one essay like in the past years.
