General questions about biostatistics

Hi, I'm a junior Stat and Math double-major. I intend to apply for biostatistics program next year.
It's kind of hard to find a ranking of BioStat. The only one I can find is NRC 1993. It's tooooold.

Is there anyone in this field? Or is anyone interested in BioStat?

I appreciate any response. Thank you ^^

Can't help. Look for larger schools with strong medical research or social research.

Son took a biostat course at Toronto for requirements for MSCS. . He's not a strict CS major or a bio major. He has a BS in ME from CMU. He said that the Biostat class was the hardest class he ever had, and worked the hardest in.

i've never really understood the term 'biostatistics.' it seems to be applied mainly towards public health/epidemiological research. however, i see some of them doing work in systems biology every now and then. what's this field really about?

Look for schools with a good quality School of Public Health because this is the school where biostatistics is likely to fall under.

Thank you, LongPrime.
My school has BioStat department. But they only offer one 100-level undergrad course. There is one for research credits. I will go for it.

I agree with you. I think biostat is kind of applied statistics focusing on health and medical field.

creolan, thank you ^^
