Hey ya'll, I have some quick questions that hopefully you guys can all answer. I committed to UW a while back and one of my first questions in housing at the campus.

A lot of the classes i will be taking are 2 days per week classes such as Biology, Computer Science, Calculus, etc. so would it be worth it to spend the extra 9-10k and house there? I live roughly an hour away and feel I could miss out on valuable connections and get lost in the crowd.

I signed up for the earliest A and O session as well so what classes should I aim on going for freshman fall year, as in which fill up very fast? I don't have a set major but plan on heading towards engineering or pre-med. Thanks in advance everyone!

I’m curious what you mean by “2 days per week classes”
I know at least Computer Science classes are MWF lecture + quiz section, and Bio (at least 180) is 4+ days a week. I believe Calc is at least MWF as well.

Takes for your inputs guys for before. I have a quick question regarding financial aid that hopefully someone can answer. Is it possible to use the subsidized loans and the other loans on a car? The bus schedule for where I live is very awkward and unless I get a car, I will most probably have to dorm, not to mention the weather can get a bit crazy here.

Also, if not, which dorm is better Elm or McMahon? I’m not a business major but the dorm for McMahon is roughly 3k cheaper than Elm. But I don’t how much worth it it is going to be to dorm with premed/engineering students, having a private bathroom, and living in a new hall.

Every person who i have talked to that has gone to college has said that you should live on campus for at least the first two years (Freshman and Sophomore). I agree, and that is what I will be doing. I hope to see you there! Go Huskies!!!

Raamzic, you are free to use the money any way you want. Of course, after it has been applied to tuition and fees. When thinking about a car, take into account the cost of parking on campus - it’s several hundred dollars per quarter. You might be better off renting a room close to campus for the same price.
